Wood is a timeless beautiful material, but it can stain quite easily. We have put some recommendations to help you maintain your timber table or board:
Food & Grime: We recommend you wipe the wooden surface with warm soapy water to remove any food and grime.
Water marks: For water marks especially on resin its recommended you do a dry once over with a clean microfiber cloth. If the mark still appears try applying a non-gel toothpaste to a soft cloth or make a homemade paste with equal parts water and baking soda and rub it into the water ring. Then, wipe clean with a damp cloth. Allowing the wood to dry before applying furniture polish.
Heat stains: Heat stains appear white on wooden products. To remove them from lacquered wood surfaces, try creating a paste using a non-gel toothpaste and baking soda. Rub the mixture into the wood with a cloth. Wipe clean with a second damp cloth and dry immediately. You may need to repeat this process multiple times. When the mark is gone, go over the spot with a wood furniture polish or oil.
We recommend you do not attempt to soak, submerge or place your wooden board into a pool of water e.g. in a sink or in a dishwasher as this will lead to warping or splitting of the timber and resin discoloration. See our 'how to clean your board' section for tips.
We recommend you do not attempt to place any hot pans, pots, trays or takeaway containers directly onto any resin or wooden timber as this can lead to damage to your resin and fading of the colour. By using placemats, coasters, table runners, heat proof mats or a board under hot objects it should assist in avoiding leaving marks on your tables and help to maintain the interiority of your resin.
All of our epoxy/resin products have been set and sealed correctly to be food safe. If you accidently cut your resin with something sharp this may lead to small resin flakes which should not be consumed. Cutting on the resin should be avoided at all costs to not damage your product.
If you have custom ordered one of our products for the outdoors we will finish it with a special oil specifically designed for the outdoors. We do not recommend moving furniture designed for the indoors to the outdoors or having any tables in direct sunlight, as heat from the sun can be unpredictable and result in timber / resin movement and colour fading. We will give you some recommendations when you make your custom outdoor order including getting a cover for your outdoor product, which will offer an extra layer of protection from the elements.
